PASADENA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–East West Bancorp, Inc. (“East West” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: EWBC), parent company of East West Bank, the financial bridge between the United States and Greater China, appointed Archana Deskus, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (“HPE”) to its Board of Directors. Ms. Deskus was also appointed to the Board of Directors of East West Bank. The appointment is effective immediately. Ms. Deskus will be a member of the Risk Oversight Committee of both East West Bancorp and East West Bank. With this appointment, East West Bancorp will have nine directors, eight of whom are independent, including Ms. Deskus.

Since 2017, Ms. Deskus has been Hewlett Packard’s Chief Information Officer, responsible for HPE’s IT infrastructure and technology resources. Prior to joining HPE, Ms. Deskus held CIO roles at Baker Hughes, Ingersoll-Rand, Timex Corporation and United Technologies Corporation.
Ms. Deskus holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management Information Systems from Boston University and a Master of Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
